Wow. Where to even start with Ellie and Matt's amazing Manchester city centre wedding?!
I knew as soon as I met Ellie and Matt that I was going to love photographing their special day. They were super laid back and their top priority was that them, their friends and their family had the best possible day. This is something they definitely achieved and then some!
I met Ellie for bridal prep at the stunning Midland Hotel on Peter Street. I could hear the giggles of her and her closest friends from down the corridor as I approached, and as I entered the hotel room I was swept into a flurry of brightly coloured outfits, beautiful spring flowers, laughter and great music.
After waltzing through the Midlands grand hotel reception flanked by the possibly the most vibrant bridal party I've ever seen, we took a short walk through Manchester city centre to Manchester Registry Office, gaining members of the wedding party as we went. Following a beautifully sincere and highly emotional ceremony, I joined Ellie and Matt to wander down Manchester's many backstreets for their couples photos. This included a particular photo that I've been wanting to take for over a year, with the Hilton and Manchester's trademark railway arches as a spectacular backdrop. One of my favourite things about city centre weddings is the joy on the faces of passers-by when they see the couple in their wedding clothes, and the well wishes given to them by strangers on the street. Always puts a massive smile on my face!
Once we were done with couples photos (and had bumped into a few of the evening guests), Ellie and Matt snuck off for a romantic dinner to themselves at their favourite restaurant before rejoining their wedding party for an almighty party at Rain Bar. Against a beautiful city centre sunset, this divine couple celebrated their marriage with all of their favourite people, great tunes and a massive buffet! Their reception was so relaxed, the vibe so happy and joyous, that I have no doubt that every single one of their guests left at the end of the evening with a huge smile on their face - as did I!
