Mei and Haroon have been together for three years, and celebrated their big day after Haroon proposed in July 2022. Shrigley Hall Hotel acted as the perfect backdrop for their beautiful celebration, with it's rolling hills, majestic architecture and beautifully decorated suites.

A stunning wedding at Shrigley Hall

Mei & Haroon's wedding was a relaxed and intimate affair. The day started with the couple getting ready together, though Mei put the finishing touches to her wedding outfit surrounded by her mother and sisters before meeting Haroon at the bottom of Shrigley Hall's grand sweeping staircase. Making a breathtaking entrance, Mei dazzled in a bejewelled white dress (possibly one of my favourite wedding dresses of the season so far), retro style hair and a simple yet stunning bouquet.

There were tears all round as the happy couple arrived to walk down the aisle together and said their wedding vows in front of their nearest and dearest. We then made our way outside for a joyful confetti exit and group photographs in front of the golf course.

As I photographed Mei and Haroon, it was overwhelmingly obvious how utterly in love they were. They couldn't stop laughing, prioritised fun and joy at all parts of the day and were just so happy and relaxed in each other's company.

One thing I always love at a wedding is a costume change, and this one was a real gem to capture. Just before their reception, Mei and Haroon changed from their western wedding outfits into their respective traditional wedding dress. How stunning do they both look?!

I honestly cannot accurately convey how much of a joy this wedding was to photograph. Mei, Haroon and their loved ones were just so kind and sweet, and I was treated like royalty all day by both them and the staff at Shrigley Hall. Scroll on to see more pictures from this amazing day!

Shrigley Hall weddings

Shrigley Hall is an elegant Georgian country house, set within 262 acres of stunning manicured grounds on the edge of the Peak District National Park (meaning a ton of potential for incredible wedding photos). With four separate function spaces on offer, it's sure to have something to suit every couple. Shrigley Hall also boasts 154 rooms (some of which are seriously boujie) and a stunning spa, meaning there's not only plenty of space for wedding preparations and for you and your guests to stay, but also to relax in the lap of luxury too!

Where can we get married at Shrigley Hall?

  • The Tilden Suite - A unique converted Salesian chapel which has space for up to 200 guests for your ceremony and 300 guests if you want to use it as your evening reception room. The unusual features and layout of this space make for a beautifully interesting setting for any wedding.

  • The William Turner Suite - A traditional wedding function room, the William Turner Suite is perfect for 200 guests throughout your wedding day. It's the perfect location for the full day, from ceremony to wedding breakfast to first dance.

  • The Ellen Turner Suite - A slightly smaller space, this Suite is ideal for 100 ceremony guests and 60 reception guests.

  • The Drawing Room - With it's spectacular decorative ceiling and traditional Georgian windows to let tons of natural light in, the Drawing Room is a real showstopper. It's also the most intimate of the four ceremony spaces, catering for 90 ceremony guests and wedding breakfasts for up to 50.

What other wedding facilities does Shrigley Hall offer?

If you're planning a Shrigley Hall wedding, you can expect a whole host of great amenities within the venue. The hotel offers access to fantastic overnight accommodation for both the couple and their guests, facilities for both a live band and a DJ, and an alcohol licence. When it comes to food (arguably the most important bit in my opinion...), couples have the option of in-house catering (with facilities for both a buffet and a sit-down meal) or private catering. If you're wanting to finish your big day off with a bang, they'll also let you have fireworks outdoors!
