About Laura - Cheshire and Manchester wedding photographer

HEY, I’M LAURA!

PHOTOGRAPHER. BUBBLE TEA ENTHUSIAST. RAIN LOVER. Pizza addict.

I’m someone who lives for how things feel rather than just how they look, who notices what’s happening when no-one’s paying attention. That’s basically what I bring to every wedding I photograph!

That love of noticing the small stuff is at the heart of how I photograph weddings. Not the perfectly staged bits, but the in-between ones. The quick glances, the awkward hugs, the moments where people forget there’s a camera there at all. That’s the stuff that actually makes you feel something when you look back on it.

When I'm not working, you'll almost certainly find me mooching in the garden, reading, chatting my wife's ear off (I am a bloody chatterbox once you get me going, you've been warned) or playing The Sims. I believe that pottering is the best activity on earth, especially if it’s done with a brew in hand! I love to keep busy and am currently trying to build a solid running habit alongside volunteering for Cats Protection and continuing a years-long quest for the perfect cup of tea (I know it’s out there somewhere).

I’m basically a big fan of the simple stuff, and I think that’s why I love weddings as much as I do!

SOMETHING YOU MIGHT NOT EXPECT

I actually have a degree in History, not Photography, and my dissertation was all about storytelling. So for me, photos have never just been about how something looks, it’s about what they say, what they remind you of, and what they let you go back and feel over and over again.

THE BEST COMPLIMENT I’VE EVER RECEIVED

“You made us feel safe to be ourselves.” That’s exactly how I want people to feel when I photograph their wedding, and when they look back at their gallery. Means the world to me.

WHAT FILLS MY CUP

I look for tiny joys everywhere! Some of my favourites are fresh bedding, cats ears, the sound of rain on the window and a quiet early morning when it feels like the rest of the world is still asleep. It’s the small things that keep me grounded - that’s probably why I’m drawn to those same kinds of moments at weddings too.

I CAN’T RESIST

Silly drinks on cafe menus. If it’s got 100 different ingredients and is bright purple with cream on top, you can bet that’s what I’ll order. My absolute go-to is a taro milk bubble tea with extra tapioca, please.

"They never let me think for a second that I'm not loved, but those pictures you took? It's so nice to actually see it. I don't think I knew they looked at me like that, until now."

If you’re looking for someone who’ll blend in, put you at ease, and quietly capture everything as it actually happens, you’re in the right place. I’d love to hear what you’re planning!
